WISCONSIN WINS!

THE WISCONSIN MEN'S HOCKEY TEAM JUST WON IN 3 OT'S (THE LONGEST GAME IN NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY) TO GO TO THE FROZEN FOUR. THEY'RE THE ONLY #1 SEED TO MAKE IT TO THE FROZEN FOUR THIS YEAR. THE FROZEN FOUR IS HERE IN MILWAUKEE IN TWO WEEKS!

THEY ARE THE FIRST #1 OVERALL SEED TO MAKE THE FROZEN FOUR IN A BUNCH OF YEARS. INCIDENTALLY, THE LAST OVERAL #1 TO MAKE IT WAS THE TEAM THEY JUST DEFEATED, CORNELL!!

I'M WAY TOO EXCITED. I'LL TYPE MORE LATER AND LINK.

I don't even think I knew until this year that they had a bracket style NCAA hockey tournament.

I can only think of one school in the Deep South that has a hockey team:

University of Alabama at Huntsville

I don't even know if they still have one.

Yeah. There are individual conference tournaments. Based on what happens in those and something called Pairwise rankings, which are basically the BCS of hockey but with less problems, they seed four regions of 4. Plus, they give out a number 1 overall ranking. Each region yields one of the teams that heads to the Frozen Four.

And as far as I know Alabama Huntsville does still have a team.
