The microphone of Giants radio announcer Dave Flemming went dead just after Barry Bonds hit home run 715. The clip is hilarious - I heard it on the radio this morning. The guy gets as far as Barry making contact, then all you hear is crowd noise and fireworks. The airwaves are dead for at least 30-45 seconds, then someone else comes on and takes lots of advantage of his lucking onto the airwaves at this point. He says that the mic is dead and then goes nuts, calling the homerun a "titanic blast" and going crazy about all the confetti, etc.
Frankly, this new guy that comes on sounds like he's been plotting this for months. Phrases like "titanic blast" don't tend to come from nowhere, if you know what I mean!
