Per the UW Women's Hockey Twitter feed, Jessie Vetter was named Sportswoman of the Year by the Women’s Sports Foundation at their 30th Annual Salute to Women in Sports Dinner. She was the Sportswoman of the Year for team sports while gymnast Courtney Kupets was the winner for individual sports.

Vetter is the first ice hockey player to receive the international award which is awarded based on fan vote.
